Puffy Dutch Baby

I wish I would have known about this recipe sooner. It's so delicious and quite simple to make. I like to enjoy it as a brunch item but it's never too late to have a puffy custardy dutch baby!

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 400°F. Add 2 tablespoons butter to a 9-inch cast-iron pan. Place the pan in the oven to melt the butter.

  2. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, and salt together.

  3. Add your eggs to the dry ingredients and whisk well. Next, add in your warm milk and whisk again. TIP: To get it extra fluffy, mixer with a hand mixer for about 30 seconds.

  4. Working quickly, pour your thin mixture into the hot pan that was in the oven, make sure your butter is melted completely.

  5. Place in the 400°F oven for about 20-25 minutes until it's golden brown and puffy.

  6. While it's hot, top with you toppings of choice. I like to brush the top with melted butter, squeeze fresh lemon juice, and sprinkle (generously) with powdered sugar.

  7. Enjoy while it's still hot! :)
